Prayer

What can I really do in prayer?
I can choose to pray. It is the only free act I can do. It is sign of my Faith & Hope. In choosing I orient myself towards a God. I can wait, as long as it takes. God is beyond chatter and insight and clarity. God is the love that dissolves all boundaries and all that separates us from Our Lord and from each other. I can wait in awareness, letting go of all chatter and insight until I come to clarity. Yet I must not cling to that either. Let it ALL pass. Then, perhaps I will become aware of “something” that is not chatter nor insight nor clarity. This new something is a gift, an encounter with the Holy Mystery that is God, who was with me through out the chatter and the insight! In choosing, waiting in awareness, I already participate in what I wait for. And it is enough. In gratitude and thanksgiving I acknowledge that the experience of my prayer comes from God and what God gives is always enough.
