A Meditation

A Meditation

Heavenly Father,

You are the creator of all creation (from the depth of cosmos with its star clusters and cloud nebulas

to the smallest wonders of Earth and all who dwell within)

You continue to create, sustain and transfigure all life, including mine own.

When this life is over, you gather life back unto yourself (for we do not die into nothingness).
You are the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last.

You are the loving ground of my very being (in the world) and non-being (beyond the world).

You are transcendent, unknowable and the horizon always beyond me (drawing me towards you, but always receding before me).
Yet, in the incarnation, your Word was made flesh to dwell (in complete solidarity) among us.

Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, through his life, death, and resurrection became our Hope and our Salvation. Lord you are the Truth and the Truth has set me free.
And you remain with us, within me, you are the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

Who counsels and guides, sanctifies and makes new, who gathers and binds.

Here and now, in freedom and choice, in stillness and patient expectation is the radical encounter; the mystery of my true nature (overwhelmed and enliven) by your Holy Mystery.

Come, Lord Jesus, Come!
