Holy Week Blessing

Let us enter Holy Week, not in fear of the future, but in joyful confidence because we are people of God, people of the resurrection, upon whom the Easter dawning stills makes all things new and the Holy Spirit still guides us.

We live in a troubling time, but the Kingdom of God, now present in mystery, has not been brushed aside, buried, or somehow delayed.  It is here.

We glimpse it in the sacramental life of the Church especially the Eucharist, and the life of communion with our brothers and sisters in faith, as well as, all persons of good will, and in the shared life of and with the Holy Spirit. We glimpse it in the heart keep on the right track, always looking ahead towards the Father who has never stopped loving us and who waits with open arms.

Let us use Holy Week, a week full of grace, to also be full of reflection and prayer.  Let us take to heart Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil.  This is Jesus’ story, and the Church’s story and our own story as well.

This week is an opportunity an invitation to be more and do more, share more and receive more.

We go into Holy Week confident in the reality that there is no place God is not.  There is no time God is not working in.  There is no culture immune from God’s grace working through it and in it. There is no person that is not a child of God.  No person beyond the Father’s love.  This week let us remember that in knowing and loving Jesus, we know and love God.  Our Lady of the Rosary pray for Us.  San Diego pray for us.

Grace and Peace in Christ
